NGC 6500 is at lower right and is classified as Sa-b. NGC 6501 is at upper left and is classified as SO-a.
NGC 6500 has an AGN indicative of a a black hole and is a LINEAR galaxy. (Filho, et.al. 2002).
Both galaxies have a surface brightness or mag. 14.4.
