A mag. 14 type E galaxy associated with a group of smaller galaxies. NGC 742 ( at the 9 o'clock position), PGC 7238 (11 o'clock) and PGC 7250 (at bottom center) are closely associated with NGC 741.
A large cavity of unknown origin exist in the ISM in this group (Jetha, et.al., 2008).
