NGC 1499 - California Nebula
Perseus
Penryn, California
October 2005
FCL-90 II (ag, ST-4)
ST-2000XM  RRGB - 15 minutes each.

Although bright, this nebula, due to its extended nature, is  not visible is most telescopes.  I have observed the leading edge of the nebula in Jeff Baldwin's 24"  during a night of good seeing at Peddler Hill.  Burnham list the nebula but does not discuss it in his work.

The above image is a 2 panel mosaic and was down-sampled 0.5x .
