NGC 1514 (PK 165-15.1)
Penryn, California
November 2003
FS-128G  (ag, ST-4)
ST-10XME LRGB 2 minutes each

The nucleus of NGC 1514 is a close coupled binary system which drives the morphology of the ejected shells.  The bright knots in the ejected shells are moving at a much higher rate of expansion and have a different chemical composition then the underlying areas of the nebula.
