NGC 4402 is classified Sb and at a distance of 25 Mly. NGC 4402 has been stripped of its halo due to ram pressure created by infall to the Virgo cluster leaving only the core area intact. Note the distortion in the dust ring on the leading edge of the galaxy due to ram pressure.
