NGC 7380 is an open cluster discovered and catalogued by Caroline Herschel,   it is part of the NGC 7380 complex consisting of the open cluster NGC 7380, the HII region Sh2-142 and a large molecular cloud NGC 7380E.  Also involved is the massive eclipsing binary star system DH Cephei.
